02/15/2019 - Palace of Fine Arts

I got to the location early to scope out the situation. The sky was pretty moody that day. It couldn’t figure out whether it wanted to feature ominous clouds while threatening rain, or to be bright and cheerful with a bit of sun peaking out. Occasionally the sun would wave hello and accidentally slap its bright sunbeams on everyones face. I appreciated the sun’s attempt, but it was making it impossible to predict the light situation.

Along with that, I had only met Eugene once at this point and I had never met Alyssa.

“A stumbling block to the pessimist is a stepping-stone to the optimist.”

-Eleanor Roosevelt

An adorable couple walked under the Palace Dome where I was waiting. I didn’t need to meet Alyssa to recognize that these two were about to have a moment. Alyssa’s eyes were bright with wonder and Eugene’s warm with love as they walked under the Palace of Fine Arts Rotunda.

I don’t need to to tell you what happened next.

I’ll just show you;)

“Working with Sharlene helped me pull off the perfect proposal. First, she was an incredible advisor who helped me think through the nuances in finding the right shot. Second, she executed the plan with such poise while still demonstrating adaptability on the day of. Lastly, she produced such stunning photography that our friends and family have not stopped talking about it since. She didn't just capture the moment perfectly, she captured the elements that made our moment perfect.” - Eugene
